Prepare the dough: Divide the pizza dough into portions of about 50g each. You can also use homemade dough if you prefer, but store-bought pizza dough works perfectly for this recipe.
Make the filling (Jam Mix): In a container with a lid, mix the flour, sugar, cinnamon powder, and finely crushed nuts (if using). Shake well until evenly combined. You can skip the nuts if you prefer, but they add a nice crunch!
Fill the dough: Flatten each portion of dough and place about 15–20g of the jam mix in the center. Wrap the dough around the filling, pinching the edges to seal it tightly. Shape it into a smooth ball.
Cook the hotteok: Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the filled dough seam-side down and cook for about 30 seconds. Flip it over, press it down gently with a spatula, and let it fry until golden brown and crispy.
Enjoy your hotteok: Serve hot as a delicious snack or dessert!
Pro Tips:
Use Deutsche Marken pizza dough or similar products for a soft and stretchy base.
Add extra cinnamon or sugar to the jam mix for a sweeter taste.
